Lincoln—On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office will be hosting Mobile Office hours in Alliance inside the Alliance Senior Center (212 Yellowstone Ave) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Nebraska Attorney General applauds the efforts of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association spearheading a day of giving for those in need across our state. Tomorrow, the Nebraska Broadcasters Association is leading a joint initiative to allow Nebraskans an opportunity to contribute in response to recent weather damage and historic flooding.
To help Nebraskans donate with care, the Attorney General’s Office continues to distribute information to reinforce donations reach those in need. A downloadable checklist for giving and a radio 3D Alert PSA both promote giving wisely as well as distinguishing between legitimate charities and scams. Many Nebraskans will be looking for ways to generously help communities in response to the devastating damage caused by weather and flooding. The “Donating with Care Checklist” will help Nebraskans to review before giving to charities and to avoid disaster-related, fundraising scams.
This entire week, the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office has been updating their consumer protection website, ProtectTheGoodLife.Nebraska.Gov with educational materials in recognition of National Consumer Protection Week.
Lincoln – Attorney General Doug Peterson, in coordination with attorneys general from across the country through the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), has joined the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other regulators to announce a nationwide takedown of tech support scams.
Lincoln – Today, Attorney General Peterson urged the U.S. Senate to enact the Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence (TRACED) Act, legislation to curb illegal robocalls and spoofing.
